PINVIN SAYS NO! TO THE MUSHROOM FACTORY

PINVIN SAYS NO! TO THE MUSHROOM FACTORY

With no activity since the end of September we had hoped that Walsh’s Mushrooms had gone away and left Pinvin alone. But no, there has been a fresh submission, this one about the drainage from the site this week.  This was one of the factors that had preventing Walsh’s from going ahead.

The issue has been about Walsh’s wanting to discharge surface water from the planned attenuation pond under the A44 to the ditch on the other side where they expect it to run down to the Bow Brook.  They have found a pipe running under the road which they hope to use.

The Parish Council will be fully considering how we will counter this proposal and will be producing more comments in the next few days. immediate thoughts include whether the pipe is large enough, what state it is in, and whether the ditches will be kept clear.

Failure on any of these fronts is likely to result in flooding at the crossroads.

On the Wychavon Planning website  https://plan.wychavon.gov.uk/Planning/Display/20/02906/FUL are two new documents under Documents and the heading Application Plans called “Proposed Drainage Sheet 2 of 2” and “Site Layout”. Have a look if you can.

The closing date for comments is Wednesday 9th February.
